This is the last chapter you will hear about until the comments. Chapter 8 will be the holding chapter before the votes. For all the new beings on this blog, go down a few blogposts for the start of the book. You want to know what is happening from the beginning. The final chapter on this blog for a while starts now.
Chapter
8
“What!?”
“No freakin way!”
“What the hell?!”
“This is not true!”
“She has used the scontanium!”
“THE WHAT!” Jake, Christina, and Cindy said
together.
“Scontanium. It’s a type of source, a power to
remodel your house or room into anything you choose to look like. It’s just an
image. It’s not real. I use this in my room all the time to avoid having to do
cleaning.”
What Mrs. Roxwell’s house of freaks looked like
was nothing like the outside. Imagine the best house you have ever seen and
multiply that by six. Mrs. Roxwell’s house was better than that.
When everyone heard this their first thought
was: IT’S A TRAP! Their voices boomed so loud over the head set that they had
second thoughts.
“Is it conference time already?” came a sudden
churn that startled Cindy. Jake got ready to fight. Christina got ready to run.
Only Max stayed calm and replied, “Hello Mrs. Roxwell,” without looking back
“So it’s you four. Well if you’re here to ask
for me not to tell your parents, well I can only say that if you give me an
apple each day we might be able to work something out like the British and the
Americans. George Washington, though, had no taste of clothes.”
“No, I... We just want to look around your
house. We always wondered what a teacher’s life is like away from school,”
answered Max with no hesitation.
“And while we are talking about George
Washington, what did I get on the test?” asked Christina curiously. As soon as
she got “the glare” from Mrs. Roxwell, she knew it wasn’t a good question.
Without asking, Max started going around the
house. Everyone followed. They each put on their mind communicator.
Everyone was holding in their fear. Who knew what
was beyond the doors of the house. Their first step into the house had been
nothing close to the fear they were thinking right now. Little did they know
what would happen if they stepped into the room of the vase.
